In the process of weight loss you should primarily invest time and would not be bad to know how to deal with problems which occur when you are on a diet: constipation, diarrhea, nausea, gases and heartburn.
Thanks to smart phones, computers, applications, and similar devices, we are accustomed to get quick solutions. Similarly, we expect that the results from dietary nutrition with the help of which we would soon melt the excess pounds to be visible quickly. It is unrealistic to expect that after two visits to the gym we will have a body like a body builder, warns Bonnie Taub Dix who deals with nutrition for over 30 years. Therefore her advice about the process of weight loss is to primarily invest time. By the way and she gave tips on how to avoid major problems during dietary nutrition: constipation, diarrhea, nausea, gases and heartburn.
- Constipation
To avoid constipation, increase fiber intake through consuming whole grains, and then in your plate add some fruits and vegetables. Do not forget to drink sufficient quantities of water so the increased fiber intake would not have the opposite effect. Eight glasses of water a day is the needed amount, and increased physical activity is recommendable as well.
- Diarrhea
The problem with diarrhea can be solved easily if you start consuming the magical combination BRAT referring to bananas, rice, apple juice and toast. This food contains carbs that are digested and absorbed by the body without making great efforts. It is necessary to drink enough fluids so the body would not dehydrate and to prevent electrolyte loss as well.
- Nausea
To reduce nausea, add crackers, toast or cereals without milk on your menu. Consume the meals more often but in smaller amounts, and between them drink enough fluids. Try consuming light foods and avoid those with strong flavors and aromas.
- Gases
Because the problem with the gases is triggered mainly by food rich in nutrients, it is not a good option to completely avoid these foods. Such foods have a cumulative effect, so it advisable to be careful about how often you consume them. This is especially true of peas, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, cantaloupe, eggplant, peppers and cucumbers. You can alleviate the symptoms with the mint, chamomile or ginger tea and you can also chew the anise or fennel seeds.
- Heartburn
Heartburn can be avoided if you rest after meals, by slow chewing or avoiding heavy meals, especially before going to sleep. In some people avoiding or limiting the alcohol, tea, coffee, chocolate, citrus fruits, tomato sauce, mint and spicy food intake can help. Avoid fatty and fried foods.
