Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is proven to be one of the most effective home remedies for skin lightening. Lemon juice contains two important properties which help against melasma and other problems with excessive pigmentation. First, it removers the top layer of the skin in order to reveal the fresh layer below. Second, the lemon juice is rich in vitamin C which is known to have mild bleaching properties. You just need to apply lemon juice on the affected areas, wait for 20 to 30 minutes and then rinse.

Turmeric Powder and Milk

Simply mix turmeric powder and whole milk and you will defeat mealsma . So, add a few drops of whole milk to a tablespoon of turmeric powder and you will get a thick paste. Apply on the dark skin areas. After 30 minutes, wash it off with water.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera’s leaves contain gel which is rich in antioxidants. These antioxidants have impressing regenerative properties. Simply apply the gel on the dark spots and wait until it is fully absorbed. After 30 minutes, wash the face with water. Aloe Vera gel will help in eliminating excess pigmentation as well as in accelerating the renewal of the damaged skin

Oatmeal with Milk and Honey

Oatmeal doesn’t contain bleaching properties but it can remove the old skin and reveal the new layer beneath which is smoother and lighter in color. Prepare a mixture of 2 tablespoons of powdered oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of whole milk and 1 tablespoon of honey.  Use the mixture to gently massage the dark areas. The treatment should last for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash the face with water.

Apple Cider Vinegar

These days almost every family has apple cider vinegar in their kitchen. It is proven that ACV is effective in treating many health problems and one of them is melasma. It contains mild but effective bleach properties. In case it causes stinging simply dilute with equal parts of water the next time.
