By now, you have probably heard many times how chicken is the healthiest meat, and how nutritionists gladly recommend it. The reason for this is that chicken is not fatty meat, that is, it is considered not fattening, but that it only contains numerous nutrients and a few calories.
That’s why chicken is recommended to everyone who is on a diet, but also to those who exercise regularly because it contains a lot of protein, which is responsible for building muscle mass. Chicken also contains iron, magnesium and calcium, and it is rich in B and C vitamins.
Boiled or grilled chicken is usually recommended, and since it has a neutral taste, you can combine it in many ways. One of the ways to prepare a delicious chicken is to poach it – you’ll think, that’s certainly not the healthiest way.
Well, maybe not, but sometimes we can allow ourselves a higher calorie meal. Since chicken by itself is not high in calories, you can combine it with stronger ingredients from time to time. However, even fried chicken can be healthy if you prepare it with less oil.
To avoid using a lot of cooking oil, prepare the fried chicken in your oven. The preparation, therefore, does not require deep frying, but only roasting the chicken on a lined tray. Only the spices and the flour you will coat the chicken with add calories, and even when it comes to flour, you can choose a healthier version.

Fried chicken with sesame and breadcrumbs
Let’s start with the much-requested recipe – chicken fried with sesame seeds is definitely a hit. It has a special taste, because when the sesame is toasted a little, it really has a particularly nice taste. In combination with the breadcrumbs, it gives a crunchy sensation to your taste buds, while the chicken remains soft inside, juicy and really very tasty.
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 1 kilogram of chicken cutlets
- 6 eggs
- 50 grams of flour
- 200 grams of breadcrumbs
- 100 grams of sesame
- Salt and spices to taste (curry, aleve, thyme…)
Way of preparation:
Cut the chicken white meat into steaks, and pound them with a meat mallet so that they are as thin as possible. You don’t have to overdo it, because the meat needs to be soft inside. So some medium thickness is appropriate. Season the steaks immediately according to your taste. If you want to add some other spices besides salt, mix them all and then cover the chicken nicely with the spices.
In one bowl, beat the eggs until foamy, in the second pour the flour, and in the third mix the breadcrumbs and sesame seeds. Now dip the steaks first in the flour to coat, then in the eggs and then in the breadcrumbs.
First you have to dip them in flour so that the eggs can stay on the meat, otherwise they will slide off and the meat won’t coat well. Place the coated meat on a tray that you have previously lined with baking paper.
You can cover the tray with a little oil, but this variant with baking paper is used precisely to avoid oil. If you already want oil, then try to choose a healthier version – olive, sesame…
When you have arranged all the steaks on the tray, turn on the oven at 200 degrees, and when it heats up, insert the tray and bake the place until it is nicely browned. It should be over in a little over half an hour. Then take out the meat and cut one steak to see if it is nicely cooked.
Serve the chicken while it is warm, with a salad or a spread according to your taste.
Fried chicken with peanuts
A slightly higher calorie meal, but peanuts are definitely recommended in the diet as an excellent source of healthy fatty acids, just like chicken. Since the chicken is baked in the oven, there are no extra unhealthy fats. We conclude that this meal is actually not as caloric as it seems at first impression!
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 1 kilogram of chicken white meat
- 1/2 kilogram of peanuts
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 eggs
- Salt and spices to taste
Way of preparation:
Cut the meat into steaks and thin, but not too much. Let it be of medium thickness, so that the meat inside is soft. Then season the steaks to taste, and if you chose salted peanuts, then you don’t have to overdo it with the spices.
Beat eggs in one bowl, pour flour into another, and peanuts into the third. Crush or chop it into small pieces beforehand, but it needs to have some larger pieces that will be felt during the meal – that’s the point.
Now dip the steaks first in the flour, then in the eggs and then in the peanuts. Arrange in a row on a lined baking sheet. Use baking paper or a healthier variant of oil to make the meal as healthy as possible.
Bake the complex meat in the oven at 200 degrees until it turns golden brown. Then, while it’s still warm, serve it with a vitamin salad, or as desired.
Fried chicken with mustard
If you like the taste of mustard, then we highly recommend this recipe. The taste of chicken and mustard goes well together, and since the chicken has a more neutral taste, the mustard comes to the fore. Compared to other spreads, such as mayonnaise and ketchup, mustard is much healthier, as it contains much fewer calories. And since the chicken is baked in the oven, without oil, this recipe is one of those with fewer calories.
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 1/2 kilogram of chicken white meat
- 1 cup of mustard
- 3 spoons of flour
- 1 egg
- Salt and spices to taste
Way of preparation:
Cut the chicken into steaks, then coat each steak liberally with mustard. Place the chicken in the refrigerator to absorb the mustard well, for at least half an hour. After that time, it is ready to be fried.
Beat the egg until foamy, and pour the flour in a separate bowl and add spices to taste, or just a little salt. Roll the steaks first in flour, then in eggs, then again in flour. Arrange the steaks in a row on the tray, and when you have arranged them all, turn on the oven.
Bake, that is, fry the chicken at 200 degrees for about half an hour, that is, until it is nicely browned. Serve the finished chicken warm with side dishes of your choice – and we recommend green or coleslaw.
Fried chicken with parmesan cheese
Parmesan cheese is an excellent addition to all dishes, and it especially gives flavor to chicken. The taste is quite mild, but it still feels very good, you will understand when you try it.
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 600 grams of chicken white meat
- 100 grams of Parmesan cheese
- 3 eggs
- 4 spoons of milk
- 4 tablespoons of flour
- Salt and spices to taste
Way of preparation:
Cut the meat into steaks and pound each one so that they are of medium thickness.
Beat the eggs until foamy, then add the milk and Parmesan, and mix. In a separate bowl, pour flour and spices to taste, and you can add just a little salt.
Roll the prepared steaks first in the flour mixture, and then in the egg and Parmesan mixture. Line the tray with baking paper and arrange the prepared steaks. When you put them all together, turn on the oven to heat it up, then bake them until they are nicely browned, about half an hour.
Serve the finished schnitzel to taste with grilled vegetables, or with a stronger dressing because the chicken prepared this way has a rather mild taste. If you really like it, serve it with a green salad.
Fried chicken with cheese
Well, now this is really a slightly more caloric dish – it’s cheese. However, it also has a mild taste, so you won’t even feel the calories. Especially if you take a short walk or do a workout afterwards. 😉 Chicken prepared this way will surely be liked by everyone, try it and you will see for yourself.
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 1 kilogram of chicken white meat
- 200 grams of cheese
- 3 eggs
- 100 grams of flour
- Salt and spices to taste
Way of preparation:
Cut the chicken meat into steaks, and pound them so that they are of medium thickness. You can make it thinner if you like crispier meat, and you can make it thicker if you like the meat to be really soft.
Grate the cheese, then mix it with the eggs. Beat well until the eggs become frothy. Put the flour in a separate bowl. Add spices to the flour to taste, and you can also add a little sesame or some other seeds for a crunchier taste.
Roll the steaks first in the flour mixture, then in the egg and cheese mixture. Coat the steaks well, then arrange them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
Fry the sliced ​​schnitzels, that is, bake them at 200 degrees until they are nicely browned. Check if the meat is done, and if so, serve while still warm. The perfect side dish can be tzatziki salad or tomato sauce.
Fried chicken with cornflakes
Also one of the favorites, we all love chicken with cornflakes. It’s so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside – the perfect combination. It may not be the healthiest version, but it is certainly one of the tastiest. That’s reason enough to make cornflakes chicken today!
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 10 drumsticks or steaks
- 200 grams of cornflakes
- 1 spoon of mustard
- 150 grams of sour cream
- 160 grams of mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
Way of preparation:
We usually list steaks, that is, white chicken meat for preparation, because they say it is the healthiest, and for many, it is also the tastiest. If you prefer drumsticks, you can always use them in the same way as schnitzels – that is, to smoke them in the same way.
So, depending on whether you want steaks or drumsticks, prepare the chicken. First, cover the meat with spices according to your taste. It can be just salt, and you can add a little ale, turmeric, pepper, vegeta… When coating the meat, add a couple of spoons of oil and rub it all into the meat and leave it to marinate for half an hour, an hour, in the refrigerator.
In the meantime, crush the cornflakes, and in a separate bowl, whisk the mustard, sour cream, mayonnaise and lemon juice.
Now take the marinated meat out of the freezer, and first roll it in the dressing mixture, then in the cornflakes. Arrange the steaks in a row on a greased tray, or line it with baking paper.
Finally, cover the tray with foil and first bake the chicken like that for about half an hour, then remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes so that the crust is set. And that’s it, serve the finished chicken warm with fries or a salad. Because of its rich flavor, you won’t need anything else except the chicken itself.
Fried chicken with cornmeal
Use corn flour instead of breadcrumbs. It is healthier, and the chicken is also nicely crispy. Combine strong spices and everyone at the table will be delighted. Here’s an idea!
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 500 grams of chicken white meat
- 100 milliliters of olive oil
- 100 milliliters of milk
- Salt, pepper, allspice, thyme and cumin to taste
- 100 grams of corn flour
Way of preparation:
Cut the meat into steaks or desired pieces. Instead of white meat, you can use drumsticks or make a combination.
Of course, you need to roll the meat in the marinade, and you will make it by mixing oil and milk, then add spices and mix well. Roll the meat in the marinade, then put it in the fridge to absorb well, for at least half an hour.
After that time, roll the meat in cornmeal, then arrange on a baking sheet. You can first dip in the eggs and then in the flour, although since the meat is sticky from the marinade, eggs will not be needed. You can use them if you want.
Bake the assembled schnitzels at 200 degrees, then take them out of the oven when they are nicely browned and have a crispy crust. Serve warm fried meat with side dishes of your choice, and it goes well with all dairy products, such as cream, cheese or yogurt.
Fried chicken with honey
And, finally, the sweetest! If you are a fan of unusual flavors, then this is it. The right recipe.
The ingredients you will need to prepare are:
- 500 grams of chicken white meat
- 4 full spoons of honey
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 3 tablespoons of sesame seeds
- Salt, cinnamon
- 100 grams of almonds
Way of preparation:
Cut the meat into steaks, or pieces of the desired size. You can always fry the chicken as sticks, or in bite-sized pieces.
Mix honey, sesame butter, and mix well to make a uniform mixture. If the honey is quite thick, you can melt it just a little to make it runny. Then add a little salt and about 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the mixture.
Roll the cut meat in the prepared marinade, and then put it in the fridge for a while to absorb the marinade. That way, the meat will be much tastier than if you fry it immediately.
While the meat is in the refrigerator, fry the almonds and then chop them into small pieces. Then roll the marinated meat in chopped almonds, then arrange them in order on a lined baking sheet. Bake the chicken at 200 degrees until it becomes nicely crispy.
Remove from the oven and then serve with yogurt, it goes well with this combination of flavors. You can also serve it with a green salad or grilled vegetables, and the chicken prepared in this way is enough by itself and very tasty!
