Pyogenic granuloma is a rare skin condition which often follows a minor injury and grows rapidly over a period of a few weeks to an average size of a half an inch. It is usually a small red, oozing and bleeding bump that commonly appears on the head, neck, upper trunk, hands and feet.
Although it can appear at any age, pyogenic granuloma is less common in children and old people.
This skin condition affected an American woman when she discovered unusual black spots on her palm one day.
At first, these were really small and resembled pimples. But, the condition started worsening as the spots grew and looked like black blisters filled with blood.
They became even bigger and spread on the whole palm. Finally, she saw a dermatologist, who removed them successfully.
Pyogenic granuloma can often result from a skin irritation, hormonal imbalance or some kind of physical trauma.
